A football pitch with a pneumatic hall will be built in Annelinn, a district of the city of Tartu. The pitch should be completed at the end of 2021 and will cost €2.5 million.
There have been no opportunities for footballers to train indoors in Tartu. According to Veljo Lamb, the head of the sports service of the Tartu City Government, the efforts have been made for years to create these opportunities for football players. There are five football clubs in Tartu. Almost 1,900 athletes train there.
Lamp explained: "A suitable area for the development of the football complex is in Annelinn, where a football field covered with a pneumatic dome will be built in the first stage. A stationary football hall is also planned, the design and construction of which will remain in the second stage of development."
In the first stage, a football field, a parking lot, container for the dressing room and washing rooms and a pneumatic hall and relevant special parts will be designed on a plot of Annemõisa tänav 1A. Private limited company Esprii won the tender for the design of the first stage of the football complex, the cost of the work is €33,240.
The football field with pneumatic hall will be a year-round one and will be completed by the end of next year. It will be managed by Tartu Sport. The construction of the hall is estimated to cost €2.5 million were some of the support will be coming from the Ministry of the Culture. Their amount of support will be €1.5 million.
