61% of Estonians Still Love their Curd Snacks
Curd snacks - a type of chocolate-covered roll popular in the Baltic states - or bonos, as they are sometimes called in the English-speaking world, are still enormously cherished in Estonia.
According to a survey by Turu-Uuringute Ltd, curd snack consumers haven't changed their habits too much since last year. Seventy-four percent eat as much or even more curd snacks than before, and 57 percent prefer local brands to imported ones.
Among the 26 percent of respondents who said they have cut down on curd snacks, most cite either a change in lifestyle or prices.
The inventor, and even the origin of the curd snack, enjoyed since times immemorial, is obscure.
