Basketball NT to face Finland twice in July
The Estonian men's national basketball team will head to Finland in July's end to play two matches against the northern neighbor. The first meeting will be held in Tapiola on June 29 and the second meeting will be held in Lohja on June 30.
Henrik Dettmann, head coach of the Finnish men's national basketball team, told Finnish public broadcaster Yle that the team wants to put themselves in competitive situations to end their camp in July.
Dettmann said: "After an extraordinary spring where seasons were cut short, players have waited the return of the national team impatiently. In the long term, exhibition matches play an important role in preparation for the coming club season and the European qualifiers in November."
The former head coach of Germany added: "We want to give as many fans as we can the opportunity to cheer us on."
The Estonian national team's preparation period goes from July 6 to July 30. In addition to matches against Finland, the team will also meet Lithuania on July 24 and Latvia on July 26 in the frame of the Baltic Chain tournament, held in Tallinn over those two dates.
