In both cases, voters had a range of options on how and when to vote. The most celebrated of these is undoubtedly e-voting, which is open in advance of polling day itself (in the case of the European elections, from May 16 to 22).

The Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) has launched a misdemeanor procedure with regard to "Räägime asjast," a radio broadcast by Minister of the Interior Mart Helme and Minister of Finance Martin Helme, chairman and deputy chairman, respectively, of the Conservative People's Party of Estonia (EKRE), aired on Tre Raadio on the day of the European Parliament election in Estonia, daily Postimees reports.

Since the 2019 Riigikogu elections on March 3, the coalition Centre Party has lost support among Russian-speaking and older voters, allowing its junior coalition partner, the Conservative People's Party of Estonia (EKRE), to catch up with it in popularity, it appears from the results of a June survey commissioned by ERR and conducted by Turu-uuringute AS.

The Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) has launched an investigation to determine whether "Räägime asjast," a broadcast by Conservative People's Party of Estonia (EKRE) politicians Mart and Martin Helme aired on TRE Raadio, constituted a breach of the Penal Code with unlawful campaigning on Election Day.
27.05.19 NEWS ... Ida-Viru County registered Estonia's lowest turnout in Sunday's election at just 24.3 percent. Yana Toom (Centre), reelected to the European Parliament on Sunday, thinks that this is due to several recent events, including Raimond Kaljulaid leaving the Centre Party, a local corruption scandal in Narva revolving around a former Centre Party councillor, and the decision to enter government together with EKRE.
27.05.19 NEWS ... Overtaken by fellow Reform member Urmas Paet, former Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas (Reform) has missed election and won't be going to Brussels. Still, he isn't disappointed, Rõivas says: his result was "decent," and Isamaa did better than expected, hence his missing out is "logical."
27.05.19 NEWS ... Speaking to ERR on Monday morning, Centre Party chairman and Prime Minister Jüri Ratas said that he was satisfied with his party's results in the 2019 European Parliament elections, but nonetheless referred to its limited financial means for campaigning this time.
26.05.19 2019 EUROPEAN ELECTIONS ... Adjusted voter turnout for the 2019 European Parliament elections in Estonia totaled 37.6 percent, ERR's Estonian-language online news reported.

The European parliamentary election results for Estonia are in, and have proved almost exactly what the polls predicted, with the Reform Party getting two seats as projected, the Social Democratic Party (SDE) getting two, with the most popular candidate, Marina Kaljurand, and the Centre Party, the Conservative People's Party of Estonia (EKRE) getting one each.
27.05.19 NEWS ... Social Democrat (SDE) Marina Kaljurand, who earned the most votes of any individual Estonian candidate in the 2019 European Parliament elections, said that the win felt great, but despite the very large mandate she received, she still wasn't interested in chairmanship of the SDE.
27.05.19 2019 EUROPEAN ELECTIONS ... Guy Verhofstadt, leader of The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) European Parliament group said Sunday's voting projections indicate the European Parliament will have a "new balance of power," and that the long-dominant conservative European People's Party (EPP) and social democratic Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) groups will have to share much more power, Baltic News Service reports.
27.05.19 2019 EUROPEAN ELECTIONS ... The 2019 European elections produced, as predicted, Marina Kaljurand (SDE) as most popular candidate on 66,143 votes, 19.7 percent of the vote - more than any entire party, other than Reform, and obviously her own. Again, there were no suprises with the most popular party, Reform, which got 87,158 and is sending Andrus Ansip to Strasbourg, as well as returning Urmas Paet for his third stint.
27.05.19 2019 EUROPEAN ELECTIONS ... As they did in the March general election, the Reform Party won the European election, with 87,158 votes, taking two MEP seats, with Andrus Ansip and Urmas Paet. The Social Democratic Party finished second, with 77,384 votes, the bulk of these for its number one candidate Marina Kaljurand, who received 66,143 votes, the most of any single candidate, and more than either the Centre Party, the Conservative People's Party of Estonia (EKRE) or Isamaa did as entire parties.
26.05.19 2019 EUROPEAN ELECTIONS ... The Electoral Committee (VVK) has overruled a complaint from Igor Gräzin (Centre). Gräzin, who formerly sat as an MEP for the Reform Party, ran for Centre at the current election, and argued that the e-vote should be cancelled, ERR's online news in Estonian reports.
26.05.19 2019 EUROPEAN ELECTIONS ... Tunne Kelam (Isamaa/EPP) ran in his fourth European parliamentary elections on Sunday, having been an MEP since 2004. Appearing on ETV current affairs show "Aktuaalne kaamera", he passed on some of his wisdom ahead of the results.
26.05.19 2019 EUROPEAN ELECTIONS ... European Union citizens resident in Estonia had the option to vote in the European Elections here, rather than their home countries. Over 1,600 did just that, according to a report on ETV current affairs show "Aktuaalne kaamera."
26.05.19 2019 EUROPEAN ELECTIONS ... The new makeup at the European Parliament should become clear some time after midnight Sunday. Polls have closed in most countries at the time of writing, but are still open in some cases. Voting in Italy ends at 11 p.m. local time (midnight in Estonia); the results thus cannot be published before that time.
26.05.19 2019 EUROPEAN ELECTIONS ... Two major political groupings in the European Parliament, comprising Europe's christian democrat and social democratic parties, are expected to lose seats on Sunday, writes ERR's Brussels correspondent Epp Ehand. Conversely, smaller groups, including those from Eurosceptic parties, are expected to make gains. If this comes to pass, the resulting fragmentation could make voting through decisions more complicated.

The forecasts of Estonian pollsters Turu-uuringute AS, Emor, and Norstat for the 2019 Estonian EU election are identical: all three predict that the Social Democratic Party (SDE) and the Reform Party will win two seats each, while of the remaining two mandates one will go to the Centre Party, and the other to the Conservative People's Party of Estonia (EKRE). The most popular candidate in all three forecasts is Marina Kaljurand (SDE).
26.05.19 NEWS ... Estonia is electing its members of the European Parliament today Sunday. With advance and e-voting closed, this is the last chance for EU citizens entitled to vote in Estonia to do so. A total of 444 polling stations are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.

Based on the results of a recent poll commissioned by daily Postimees and conducted by Kantar Emor, Estonia will elect two Reform Party candidates and two Social Democratic Party (SDE) candidates to the European Parliament, with the remaining two seats most likely to go to the Centre Party and the Conservative People's Party of Estonia (EKRE). Differences in levels of support are small, however, indicating that results may differ.
23.05.19 NEWS ... Online and early voting in the 2019 European Parliament elections in Estonia ended on Wednesday. By Wednesday evening, a total of 223,870 people, or 25.4 percent of voters, had cast their vote, including 155,521 online and 68,349 in person at polling places.

Recent surveys suggest the 12 weeks since the March 3 general election has not been long enough for voter patterns to change dramatically, according to head of pollsters Turu-uuringute Juhan Kivirähk, if the Riigikogu elections were to be held tomorrow. 20.05.19 NEWS ... From Monday through Wednesday this week, all 444 polling places across Estonia will be open for early voting in the 2019 European Parliament elections.

The inclusion of lists of actual candidates currently running for election to the European Parliament had a significant impact on party rankings in a recent poll — Marina Kaljurand's personal popularity boosted that of the Social Democratic Party (SDE) to outstrip the Reform Party and the Centre Party alike, indicating that the SDE could walk away from the current elections with two of Estonia's six mandates.
19.05.19 2019 EUROPEAN ELECTIONS ... Close to 70,000 voters had cast their ballot ahead of the European Parliament on Saturday evening, part of the so-called advance voting period ahead of the May 26 election day.

A change to party regulations would see the party have potentially dual-leaders, if the amendment – which is to be the subject of a vote – passes.
21.04.19 NEWS ... 32% of Estonian voters have promised to vote for a Reform Party candidate in next month's European Parliament elections, according to the results of a survey commissioned by ERR and conducted by Turu-uuringute AS. Should Estonia continue with six seats, this would mean at least two mandates.
